They 'Got Big Feet"

Look at B's big feet! To only weigh 40 pounds she has some LONG feet!

These are M's big feet! Size 6 in woman's! No more deals on shoes for M!

Well, a new school year, and new shoes for P.E. Yes, at Beauclerc, the coaches tell the students that they must wear "real tennis shoes" to P.E. I think these new Nike sneakers will pass the "Coach Test"!

Dance Update: M loved her four hours of dance this week. On Wednesday she has tap and hip hop- her tap teacher is my jazz teacher, and her hip hop teacher is my tap teacher. Then on Thursday her jazz and ballet teacher is the same teacher that M has on Monday for Jazz/Acro and Tap/Ballet! So all good in the dance world for the Rowans!

It is a Success for ONE!

After being with one Studio for 7 years, and that studio suddenly closing over the summer, the dance drama has been quite a bit around here. The old Miss Kim had class with the girls everyday except Wednesday for the last three year. The shock of her not opening her studio this fall was quite tramatic for the girls to the point B said she was playing soccer and M was going to play volleyball. Well our fears and stresses were relieved today for one. B had class for two hours at the new Miss Kim's studio and she just loved all two hours! We could hear her laughing and playing behind the door, and when she came out she stated that "Her class was awesome, and that I didn't have to stay with her next week! M starts her new classes on Wed. and then goes back on Thursday. We will post her pictures then!

The winds finally came!

At first, there were just random small limbs blowing around. Nothing to bad to have to bag up- Then, the strong winds came, and now we are really going to have some clean-up to do!

All in all, as of today, it has not been that bad of a storm. Our dogs are pretty bummed out that their outside time has been limited, but really the wind and rain have not been too bad yet.

Tropical Storm Fay

Well today we were out of school because of tropical storm Fay. Today has not been bad at all, in fact they are calling this storm Fickle Fay- For us, having two days off school when school just began Monday means that we will not have Nov. 10 or the day before Thanksgiving off. I would rather be at school, than give up those two great weather days. B slept until 10:30 today, so it was much like a summer day all over again. M played on the computer, danced, and read some books. I tried to catch up on beginning of the year school paperwork. We will keep you posted on our progress through the storm, but it looks like it was just a big Rain Maker. B and M had two of their good friends over to play today and Gabe and Alexis enjoyed posing for Tropical Storm Pictures!

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for us! What a day. B started off a little teary, but once we arrived at school the excitement of the first day settled in (It is not bad being the teacher's kid! You get to help with all kinds of first day activities!) Briley eats lunch first, followed by Macey, and then our class is the last class to eat. The day seemed to fly by, and before we knew it, it was 3:00. It was exhausting, so when we got home Briley and I took a nap (Briley is still sleeping) and Macey helped her dad cut the lawn. Did I mention we are under a Hurricane warning- we will know tomorrow if we will be out of school Wednesday. I HOPE NOT!!! Our first weather day is November 10th, and it would be a shame to miss the opportunity for a long weekend!

The Last Weekend Before School Starts!

What a busy weekend! Haircuts, trips to Target, the Mall, and Kohls... First haircuts.. notice the long straight hair. It was raining on and off all day, so getting out of the car only happened with breaks in the weather so both heads would stay straight! M picked up her 2 new pair of glasses that she picked out with her daddy last weekend. All to get ready for the big day on Monday. B will be in 1st grade (she has M's former 1st grade teachers), and M will be in 4th grade! B working on her computer to help her reading and math skills!

First Class Craft

We have now completed 3 days of Pre-planning, and today I finally managed to finish the example for our first class craft. I found this project at summer camp, and the kids there loved it- I can't wait to see what my students make.

Today was the first day back at school after the long summer break! Boy was it exhausting! We are ready to have a great year.

Summer is O-V-E-R!

It is hard to beleive that the summer is over. While I can't complain that we didn't have a great summer, I can wish for a few more weeks! Macey is off to dance this week at her new studio- www.dansationsjax.com, and Briley will be spending a few days with my mom! Orientation for our students will be Friday, but we will get our list of new students Monday---- The list that has been guarded all summer long....The end of summer means basketball will be starting back up for Derek. I think he is going to stay with the U13's for the second year. I wonder where we will get to go this year! I am happy to report that I am finished with school until September 2! Now, I will be able to see what people do without school! Only 2 more semesters and one B-I-G dissertation to go!! More later.
