The Madness has Begun!

Check out our other blog: http://jaxnets.blogspot.com/
It was a GREAT weekend for basketball! First weekend out, and Derek's teams didn't do too bad at all! We played in Ocala - Derek stayed over, the girls and I drove back so I could meet with my confirmand and it was our weekend for Children's Church!

Truth be told, I had not planned on going back Sunday- but both Derek's teams ended up in the #1 Play-off games- so I could not miss that!

I also joined Face Book yesterday to pull down a few pictures from a friend- oh my goodness... that is a big network that I need some time to get to know! It was amazing how many potential friends it thought I must have... Uh no... I will add those thank you!

Anyway.. I am seriously looking for my new camera- wanted to have before we started traveling, but it takes me a long time to make a purchase! I think Derek is going to just buy it outright because he is tired of waiting... not to mention, he wants good shots of his players! I know the two lens I want (I think!) and I believe I am going with the D80 (today :-) )

Have a great week!

TV Stars and All....

B was chosen to say the pledge on our closed circuit morning program at school. She was so fantastically adorable! She said she was just "a bit" nervous!

We are flying through February- Derek spent the weekend working the races in Daytona for the Nets.. contrary to what he says I really think he liked it! He worked the Jag games for E's chorus for about 3 years... Something about being around all that stadium food!

It is the 7th week of school for me, only 8 more to go until I am finished! I can hardly stand it! It is just going to be awesome to only have the writing for the final parts of my dissertation left. To say that I have become a slacker would be an understatement. I think I have read about 30 pleasure books since Christmas break. I have got to stop that, but oh... M , B, and I have had such a great time reading all over the place!

It looks like we will be out of town for Easter (this will be a first). For all of our family in Louisville, we will be at your back door in Knoxville! Come on over-- we will be at the Knoxvegas tournament! It should draw some really great talent!

My mentee for confirmation is so cute. She is right where she needs to be, and I think she will continue to make good choices. She is articulate, smart, and just a joy to share this experience with. We have had some really great speakers, and the Bible lessons have just supported everything we believe and do!

As we kick into March, Spring Break and the 4th quarter quickly approach. Before you know it, we will be traveling our summer away! We have some great trips planned!

See you soon!

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words.....

M and Callie Thursday morning before school. M gets up, gets her shower, I do her hair and then she lays back down on her "hot" towels. Yes, it is like a hotel around here in the morning for the two princesses. Derek heats up their towels each and every morning in the dryer- and then gets them for them so they are nice and snugly warm.....

Callie has been with us since Elisha was 3.... that makes her a pretty old cat! She does like to sleep with both girls equally, but favors the one with the warm towels in the morning!

Zooming through February!

Just for our family out of town --- we do get ice here! And let me tell you... it was GREAT to have cold weather for three days last week. Our yard is finally no longer green and some flowers that needed to be pruned have manage to "self-prune". Now we are back in the mid seventies. B has finally now lost both of her front teeth. I guess she is no longer the "baby". She was so excited to have these out! She has been working on those teeth forever it seems.

A rare blog sighting from E- (It helps to cook big meals on Sundays!) and her friend Derek (yes, spelled the same way!

The reason for the big Sunday dinner.... Charles came to town from Texas after 20 years! Here is a few pictures of guys that have been friends for over 28 years! It's amazing that they still see each other almost every weekend! They were joking about all the kids, and all the stories!

Warning: They will make you laugh forever... they are just as silly at 41 as they were at 13! And that is a scary thought! No need for a Wolfson reunion.... we have it here every weekend!

Gosh, we have been busy. Not really sure how it happens, but time just really goes by quickly and it is the 15th and then the 30th. We I am looking forward to the long weekend! A time to get organized and try to plan some schedules until the end of school. Derek will be in Daytona for the races (working some booths with his travel team parents)- He is excited, when E was in middle school he worked the Jag games for their chorus group for about 3 years!
No M pictures this time, but I will post some next time. She took her big writing test (State) today- she said she thinks she did great! She was not nervous at all.

Taking Classes for Fun!

O.K. - so our school has "Gone Mac". It has been a bit of a trip for me, because I am a true Dell junkie~ But, I have embraced this dual system operations (and a Mac with Word and Excel isn't all that bad!)
Well to compensate for our poor Mac skills, our district has been so kind and generous to offer these great Mac classes. We are learning about all the toys on the Mac's (and they are quite fun!)
Anyway, I played around with some I-Movies the girls made- They are extremely silly if you know M & B!

Enjoy!

A little B & M Fun!

February - Already???

It is hard to believe that it is the 2nd day of the 2nd month of the year. I am telling you January was just one big blur! I am hopeful things will slow down a little, (but I doubt it will!).
Many things are going on, and it just seems the calendar is booked already! Derek started coaching a U14 team as well as the U15 team, and it is a lot of work at the beginning just trying to get the rosters, AAU books, and tournament materials together. It just starts coming so fast!

And what a bummer.... the Cards and the Vols lost tonight! So Summitt will stay at 999, and the Cards will probably drop from #7!

This is M on Super Bowl Sunday. I believe that she and one of her friends were in my office making I-Movies- I will try and put some of those up because they are quite funny. M was in rare silly form. That is actually a bad recital wig, that both my kids love to wear!
B who is still just 42 pounds ate the entire hour before and all during the game. She loves to graze, and she had plenty to graze on!

However, at half-time she decided that she was ready for her front tooth to come out. I was not... And I even tried to bribe her with a trip to the library if she would just leave the tooth alone. She must have worked the entire third and fourth quarter to get that tooth out. Sitting in my sink, she just wiggled and jiggled, but that tooth would not come out (Yes- my kids were up late Sunday night!)
Finally, we told her she had to go to bed, and she was very unhappy with us because "don't you know that the tooth fairy doesn't like the rain" (Yes, it is raining today!)

But off to bed she went! Then, today at school we celebrated the 100th day of school. In B's room they had many fun and exciting activities- however, B was on a mission to extract that tooth so she would be the first and only person in her class to have a tooth "fall-out" on the 100th day of school, and get the really cool tooth necklace.
Well, I came back to my room after lunch and there at my table was a note from B herself-
"Mom, this is B and here is my toth tothe tooth.
(Because last year, there was a tooth that got stuck in my shoe (we think a back molar) only nobody in our room would ever claim it! It really grossed me out!)

So off I went to find B and take a picture of her hard work. See this is a cute picture, because that missing tooth, well, I'm just glad we made it through the holdiays! LOL!
You can hop on over to Derek's basketball Blog if you want to try and catch some of his games this season. It looks like most of the U15 games will be out of town (Once M found out he was going to Atlanta, she immediately started thinking... lunch at the American Girl Store!) The U14's are regional for the most part, but it still will be great ball.
I start my mentorship for my confirmand on Sunday. She is a sweet girl that I just adore! We will walk through confirmation together for 6 weeks and I am just so excited to share this walk of faith with her! Please keep us in your prayers during this time.
"The Lord says, "I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you." - Psalms 32:8
It is so awesome to see and witness the young people at our church grow in their own faith and see all the good God can do! We are just truly blessed to be part of such an awesome family of believers!
