This has been an awesome Christmas Season for us. God has been so gracious to our family. He has taken loads of worry away from us as it pertains to the little J's siblings, he has given us peace and grace throughout this season! We have seen the wonders of his love over and over again.
We had an awesome Children's Service last night with M and B reading the Advent Script and The Big J lighting all the candles. It was really neat to see all of our family in church together. Can you believe we actually take up a whole pew now?? We had The Big J's little brother with us, so as always we were plus some extras!!
Well, somebody liked the Christmas Eve dinner! They actually sat at the table with the food! It was kind of funny!
M, The Big J, and Derek wanted crab legs!
Some yummy shrimp!!
Derek wanted oysters... The big J did too!
This black eyed pea salad was my favorite thing we had last night! It was so good. I was nervous because it called for balsamic vinegar, but all I had was Zesty Italian. So... a little sugar and dressing later... it was delish!!!
The little J had an early gift from grandma last night! Can you tell he is happy??
When we woke up, Peppermint was front and center in the tree... I think he was making sure that Santa did not leave him!!
Peppermint flew back to the North Pole with Santa last night. He looked wiped out keeping up with all the kids this year!!! We will miss him and his silly antics, but hopefully he will make it back next year!
one very full tree!
Oh look.... a basketball!!
M received this extra soft set of pj's that even came with fuzzy flip flop slippers!
B was very excited about her DS games!!
The little J was very excited about what Santa brought him! He could not believe that these were his toys!
B was very busy this morning opening her presents. She was the last one to finish because she carefully opened each one.
In a first in our household M was up at 5:30, then at 6:30, then back up at 7:30. This was the earliest that we have ever opened gifts!! Needless to say she took a nice two hour nap from 10-12 :-)
This first week off of school has been great! We have been so blessed to have friends visit, kids play, and good food to celebrate! We lit the Advent candles at church last night as a family and it was so neat to see both M and B be able to read the scripts.
Clean Sweep will arrive here Sunday! It is going to be a week of purging. I don't know how but we are just bulging over here, and since Derek has the week off we are going to go room by room and clean the place up! I am very excited, because even Derek is finally on the same page. Between dance and travel ball and all of our other activities we have all kinds of stuff here!!!!
Next Tuesday (12/29) we will have a visit with the brothers, and then we are back in court on the 7th. We fully believe that God is watching over this situation and will take care of it for us. We are happy for the time with the visits.
I will post more later... I need to finish my Christmas dinner!
Enjoy your day and your family.
The word became flesh and made
his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory,
the glory of the
One and Only
who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth!
John 1:14
