This first quarter of the year as I reflect back has been so busy for me; not that I am complaining because I believe busy is bred into my blood! I mean, if you are not busy what are you?
January - Started teaching a new ESOL class, enrolled Jackson in basketball, continued with high school cheerleading through basketball; started Competency 6 for my Reading Endorsement; started off a 6 session math workshop; kicked off weekly meetings for our Youth Groups largest fundraiser of the year - The Main Event, start school yearbook
February - continued high school basketball and Jackson's basketball season, continued to work the Youth Auction, started to plan the school carnival; continued Competency 6, and continued teaching ESOL; take more pictures for school yearbook - attended that NOT SO FUN 6 session Math workshop!
March - Had the Main Event - a HUGE success for our church youth- netted $13,000.00 for Choir Tour; completed Comp 6 - YIPPEEEE - Can now teach high school :0; finished Jackson's basketball season, and went to State with high school basketball (16 cheerleaders and ALL); finished teaching ESOL; ran the school carnival and went out of town with Macey and Briley for a SUPER dance competition; SUBMITTED the yearbook :); attended confirmation retreat with 6th graders- finished that NOT SO FUN math workshop!
And on top of all that- I still taught everyday, ran carpool, cooked dinner, and managed to keep a somewhat clean house!!
So- what was that question? What are you supposed to do if you are not busy? Well I found out- prayed about it really, and put it into practice the last week of March- BE STILL - and it has been great! In fact, I keep thinking that I am forgetting to do something. One of my friends told me I forget how to relax- that was funny to me!!! It has taken some time, but I actually think I LIKE being a spectator!! I'm still busy- just not SUPER busy!!!
April is going to bring a few changes - cheerleader tryouts (a whole new squad for varsity!), new safety patrols at school, and a couple of out of town AAU tournaments with Jasper! I LIKE it!!
From a family that was always busy it's really hard to sit still! I'm thinking my yard will look like it did many years ago when that was my only "hobby"!
I though these were cure to Briley and Stitch! Jackson is turning into my next little photographer!
When we go to school Monday we have 48 days left for this school year! That is such a short time! I am excited to see summer :)
Enjoy your week!
