Numbers and Years... Counting Up and Counting Down

It seems like in life we are always counting... counting up or counting down. Waiting for things to happen, or waiting for things to end. At this point in our lives we are counting down until school ends! In closing out the year it's fun to reflect on all that has happened:

Jap started college at the University of South Carolina, was red shirted as a Freshman, gained about 30 pounds of "football muscle", settled into dorm life, met and started dating a really great girl, and finished his freshman year of college with A's and B's!

Macey started high school, auditioned for her first conservatory (and made it!!), auditioned to be part of a dance ensemble (and made it!!), danced in Disney, danced in New York City, and performed her first solo on a competition stage. As she finishes her first year of high school with stellar grades (All A's, with a B in Biology) we will get ready for her recital before she heads off to South Carolina for conservatory!!!

Briley started middle school, auditioned for tap ensemble (and made it!!), danced in Disney, and auditioned for Block 4 (and made it!!).  She had so many school performances this year - at the Zoo, at the high school, and at her school. I am so happy she has reached her goals this year. She made it through confirmation, and finished the year with All A's and a B in math!

Jackson has finished 1st grade! He has had a great year! It was my first year having no kids with me on my campus, but Jackson had a blast at his art school!! It was good for him to experience dance, strings, art, drama, and other creative resources. I am so blown away by some of his art work. He is such a talented artist. He finished the year with a Student of the Month Award for May!!

I think I'm the most happiest the year is over. It signals the end to a year that at times I thought I might not make it through. But I guess what they say is true- change is good, at all levels, and this has been a tremendous year of change. As it comes to a close I am most excited about a quiet summer we have planned!

A summer that is going to be filled with good books, bike rides, picnics at the park, and long summer nights outside playing!

 Briley turns 12
 Jackson turns 7!!!
Jap was home for the Month of May!
 My beautiful Macey!
 Two of my favorite men!!!
Macey's Award from the Dance Department - Model Dancer!!!
